Description
Soy Wax Flakes
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.
The U.S. grows the vast majority of the world’s soy beans, primarily in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana.
How is it used?
Soy wax is used by candle makers in a number of ways. It can be used straight as in 444 soy wax, blended with other natural oils like Ecosoya CB 135 or Advanced Soy, or mixed with paraffin to form a parasoy wax like IGI 6006
GMO free soy wax that contains no additives and is both natural and kosher.
Soy wax 444 – Has a higher melt point which enables it to retain a higher FO (fragrance oil) load to give you a stronger scent throw while allowing you to pour at a cooler temperature. Great for container candles. Not suitable for moulds.
Recommendation:
When the wax is at the optimal temperature of 185ºF, the fragrance will be evenly dispersed throughout the wax, ensuring a consistent cold and hot throw.
Try 149F and 140F as recommended temperature to add fragrance and to pour the wax respectively.
FO Load: 7%-9%
You can also use 444 to make an extremely pure votive/tart wax. Just add 5-10% of beeswax
Application
Massage wax/cream, massage oil candle.
Container candles, scented candles, melts or tarts
If used for Pillar candles, we suggest to blend soy wax with other higher melting point waxes, e.g. beeswax, paraffin ax, palm wax, to help the pillars stand by itself.
Blend with other natural oils to produce a candle with better fragrance retention or scent throw.
Mix with other natural wax like beeswax with great success.

Hello can it be used as base for candle making with no other mix wax? Can it perform well enough? And what is the melting point and pouring point temp? And FO percentage? Appreciate if you can answer my query. Thank you

Hello, got below feedback from supplier
It can only be used as base for Jar candles without other mix wax. It performs good, but at very rare times, it may cause a bit uneven surface on the top.
Melting point is 52°C, pouring point is 60°C.
FO is 6-8%.
